TotalEnergies Ethiopia Participates in the World Malaria Day

As a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility Program, TotalEnergies Ethiopia continuously participates in the fight against malaria. Every year since 2009, the company celebrates the World Malaria Day Campaign through different events and distributes educative materials: leaflets, guidebooks, posters, games, stickers, school kits, t-shirts and caps to the malaria risk zones in the country.

In 2017, the company in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Malaria Consortium joined the National Campaign Program for the ninth time with the motto "End Malaria for Good". This year, the event was held in the Western part of the country at Gambella town 780 KM from Addis Ababa in the presence of H.E. Gat Luak Tut, President of Gambella People's National Regional  State, Representatives of the Federal Ministry of Health, WHO,USAID,  Health, Development and Anti Malaria Association and the local government officials as well as the public at large.

TotalEnergies Ethiopia participated in this event by having its own stand, with a question and answer competition conducted in collaboration with Gambella Health and Education bureaus. The competition was among 50  school students selected from Gambella town and its surrounding. Dictionaries were awarded for the competitors ranked from 1 to 5 and a malaria kit and a clutch bag are given to each participant.
