The Official Inauguration of the First Fast Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging
TotalEnergies Marketing Ethiopia inaugurated the first fast electric vehicle charging public station in the country at its Bole Road Service Station, in the presence of H.E. Mrs. Seharla Abdulahi, Director-General, Ethiopian Petroleum and Energy Authority, Mr. Olivier VAN PARYS, Executive Vice President MS/AFR/MOI, H.E Ambassador Rémi MARECHAUX, French Ambassador to Ethiopia, Mr. Christophe FERRAND, Managing Director of TotalEnergies Marketing Ethiopia, Major Athlete Haile Gebresilassie, the Brand Ambassador of TotalEnergies Marketing Ethiopia, staff, media, invited guests and partners.
In his address, Mr. Christophe FERRAND, indicated that the development of FV fast charging stations has momentous contribution to climate change effects. "As a customer centric company, we have finalized this new solution to contribute to the decarbonization of transportation together with our partners. Hence, we strive to stay in our position and committed on delivering energy that is more affordable, more reliable, cleaner and accessible to as many people as possible."
In his part Mr. Olivier VAN PARYS said that the demand for supporting new types of mobility is growing on the continent and TotalEnergies invested on the latest technologies and equipment to ensure safe and environmental-friendly operations protecting customers, stakeholders and the community.
H.E. Ambassador Rémi MARECHAUX stressed, this showcases the will of French investors to support sustainable changes which Ethiopia has prioritized, said and he will give full support in this regard.
H.E. Mrs. Seharla Abdulahi appreciated TotalEnergies' commitment in the renewable energy arena and sald that the benefit of this fast EV Charging Station is significant in reducing air pollution.
The Managing Director thanked all concerned government authorities, staff and partners who have contributed to the completion of this project.
