The colorful and most eagerly awaited 21st edition TotalEnergies Great Ethiopian Run was celebrated on the 23rd of January 2022 with the theme “Go Green” which was previously planned for November 14, 2021 and postponed. Due to COVID – 19, the registered number of participants were 25,000 which is increased by 100% comparing to the last year’s registered participants, 12,500. In this race, international runners from Kenya, Uganda, Eritrea and other foreign countries were also participated.
The Great Ethiopian Run is an annual 10 KM road running event held in Addis Ababa every year since 2001 and TotalEnergies Marketing Ethiopia is the Title Sponsor for the past six consecutive years and will also continue to be for the coming year.
TotalEnergies Marketing Ethiopia arranged different activities in three TotalEnergies Service Stations by offering the runners entertaining and interactive activities such as shower truck stations, umbrella for those who do not want to get wet, motivational slogans and group dancing activities. The race participants were enjoyed by the activities in the station.
To introduce the new brand identity, TotalEnergies, different promotional materials were used including 5-meter colorful flags, mesh and flying banners with TotalEnergies Logo, Lubricant and TotalEnergies Card promotional poster with TotalEnergies Marketing Ethiopia Brand Ambassador World Champion Athlete Haile GEBRESILASSIE, live promotional announcements about TotalEnergies Marketing Ethiopia and different activities in the three TotalEnergies Service Stations.
We strongly believe, the partnership with Great Ethiopian Run gives us a great brand coverage and visibility in the 10 km circuit and local & international medias also give a good media coverage of the event.
