The 3rd Edition of the Startupper of the Year Challenge by TotalEnergies Marketing Ethiopia S.C. officially launched today, November 9, 2021 at Hyatt Regency with the presence of the Brand Ambassador of TotalEnergies Marketing Ethiopia, Athlete Haile G/Sellasie, invited guests, business incubators, winners of the 2nd Edition of the Startupper challenge, MANCOM representatives and local media.
During the event the evolution of the Startupper Challenge and brief detail about the 3rd edition were presented by Ms. Fayda Zewdu and Mrs. Marta Kassahun. The winners of the 2nd Edition of the Startupper challenge, Mrs. Selam Wendim and Mr. Anasimos Gelan also gave a testimonial speech about their experience in the previous challenge, how it supported them and their achievements on employment opportunity they are able to create for others.
Athlete Haile G/Selassie also appreciated in his speech that TotalEenergies initiative to the support young entrepreneurs and admired the overall projects submitted during the previous editions and the result that he witnesses today. Furthermore, he stressed that the youth should participate and present their startup ideas so that they can be benefited from it and innovative solutions that have a positive impact on local communities.
Registration opened on November 4th 2021, and will be accessible directly online at: http://startupper.totalenergies.com. Candidates will then have until December 23rd, 2021 to submit their application.
In TotalEnergies Marketing Ethiopia, a local jury members will be nominated from leaders of business incubators, University Senior Lecturers, Company CEOs and prominent local actors to select three winners on the following criterion:
- Best business creation project
- Best startup under 3 years old
- Best female entrepreneur
